I feel like any time I have ever mentioned a tree on this blog, it was dead of being removed from my property. Well today that changes! We actually PLANTED A TREE!
Meet Marty the Marvelous (and rescued) Maple!
Marty apparently came from Washington by way of a rescue nursery. I had no idea such a thing even existed until our neighbor gifted us this tree because she has cut her husband off from planting anymore trees in their yard (they have a lot of trees…) She noticed that we have lost many trees in just a few short years and thought we might like some shade.
Not one to refuse the gift of a tree, we happily accepted! We planted Marty where the willow tree used to be. The neighbor said that in a few short years, the tree will take off and be 5 to 6 feet. Cool Beans.
If you are confused as to why this tree is named Marty, please refer to the post where I confess that if I give plants a personality and name, I can’t kill them. So cross your fingers because my yard really needs some shade!
